Jonesboro Library Hosts Genealogy Night
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library invites community members to Unearth Your Story during its annual Genealogy Night Lock-In on Saturday, July 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the main library.
Whether you're just beginning your family history journey or have years of research experience, Genealogy Night offers something for everyone. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore family connections, discover new research resources, and receive assistance from volunteers with the Genealogy Society of Craighead County, who will be available throughout the evening to answer questions and provide research guidance.
Attendees can enjoy an evening of genealogy research, food, and beverages. Prizes and giveaways, including a Kindle Paperwhite, a Kindle Fire, a DNA kit, Genealogy Night exclusive T-shirts, and more, will be available throughout the evening. This year's event is sponsored by the Friends of the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

Summer Programs Continue at Jonesboro Public Library
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library invites families to attend several exciting summer programs throughout June and July. These free events are open to the public and designed to entertain, educate, and inspire children of all ages.
On Wednesday, July 15, Runaway Puppet Theater will present "Tall Tales, Tiny Heroes," featuring entertaining puppet performances for all ages. Shows will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Round Room.
On Wednesday, July 22, the Museum of Discovery Awesome Science Show will bring hands-on science demonstrations and exciting experiments to the library. Programs will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Round Room.
All programs are free and open to children in Pre-K through 3rd grade and their families. Registration is not required.
Jonesboro Library Launches “Library To Go” Service to Homebound Jonesboro Residents
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library announces Library To Go, a free delivery service providing twice-monthly book delivery to residents who are unable to leave home due to illness, disability, or age.
Deliveries will occur on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month to eligible patrons living within Jonesboro city limits. Participants may receive up to four books per delivery, selected by library staff from a personalized request list using materials available from the library’s collections.
Eligibility Requirements:
More information on how to request books will be provided to patrons once they are accepted into the Library To Go service.
Residents or caregivers interested in participating should complete the Library To Go interest form. Staff will review eligibility and follow up with next steps.
Library Announces Summer Reading Challenge
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is inviting young readers and their families to join the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. This year's theme, "Unearth a Story™," is provided by the Collaborative Summer Library Program and encourages children to discover new adventures, explore their imaginations, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Participants can sign up at the Youth Services Desk and pick up a Summer Reading Challenge brochure filled with reading activities, games, and information about earning prizes.
The library offers three age-based challenges to ensure readers of all levels can participate:
• Read-Together Challenge for ages 5 and under
• Reader Challenge for students in 1st through 3rd grade
• Tween Challenge for students in 4th through 6th grade
The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to help children maintain and strengthen reading skills while school is out and to encourage families to make reading a fun part of their summer routines.
Registration is free, and participants may join at any time during the program.
Jonesboro Library Hosts Weekly Adult Fitness & Creative Programs
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is encouraging the community to start the new year with healthy habits by participating in its free weekly fitness and creative programs. The library offers welcoming programs focused on movement, mindfulness, creativity, and connection, no prior experience required.
Yoga: Mind and Body Fitness is a low-impact yoga and meditation class designed to be accessible for all fitness levels. Classes are held Mondays from 5:00 to 5:50 p.m. in the Round Room.
Zumba invites participants to get their heart pumping while dancing their way to fitness in a fun, high-energy environment. Classes take place Thursdays from 5:00 to 5:50 p.m. in the Round Room.

Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library Announces 2026 Concert Series
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is excited to announce its 2026 Concert Series. The library will host four live performances throughout the year, offering free entertainment for the community.
The series will begin with The Baritone Jazz Junction with the Baritone Foundation on Friday, June 19, at 6 p.m. in the Round Room.
The second performance will feature country duo Lan Law on Friday, October 2, at 6 p.m. on the library lawn.
The third concert will showcase Cory Jackson on Friday, October 23, at 6 p.m. on the library lawn.
The series will conclude with a holiday performance in December in the Round Room, with additional details to be announced at a later date.
“We are excited to continue bringing live music to our community through the library’s concert series,” said Rylie Yawson, Marketing & PR Manager. “Last year’s concerts created so many beautiful moments for friends and families to gather and enjoy music together. It was a wonderful year for the series, and we’re excited to expand from three performances last year to four concerts in 2026.”

Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library Announces New Community Food Pantries
(Jonesboro, AR) The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is proud to announce the addition of two new community food pantries, manufactured and donated by Best Manufacturing. These pantries are part of the library’s ongoing effort to support local families and provide accessible resources to the community.
The food pantries are located behind the Security Desk and Teenhub Area. Patrons may take three to four items at a time to help meet their immediate needs. The teen pantry is specifically designated for youth-friendly snacks such as granola bars, fruit cups, and crackers, providing students and young visitors with quick, easy nourishment during their time at the library.
The library will accept community donations year-round to help keep both pantries stocked. Suggested donation items include canned goods, pasta, cereal, oatmeal, snack bars, and other non-perishable foods. Donations can be dropped off at the main circulation desk during regular library hours.
“The library is more than just a place for books, it’s a cornerstone of community support,” said Vanessa Adams, Library Director. “We’re grateful to Best Manufacturing for coming to us and making this vision a reality and to our patrons whom we love to serve.”
